It has been announced that the tribute album “ROCK AND SYMPATHY –tribute to the pillows-“ would be released in commemoration of the pillows’ 25th anniversary in 2014.
This is the 2nd tribute album release for the pillows since the last release 10 years. In contrary to the last release which mainly featured artists of the same generation as the pillows, the new tribute album features an amalgam of young bands including Base Ball Bear, THE BOHEMIANS, HiGE, UNISON SQUARE, GARDEN, syurispeiloff, WHITE ASH, Scars Borough, tokyokarankoron, kaminarigumo, WEAVER, fukurouzu, GOOD MORNING America, a flood of circle, 9mm Parabellum Bullet and more. Another thing to take notice is the appearance of actress Kaho on the album’s cover artwork.
the pillows is currently on their national tour ＜the pillows TOUR 2013 “LOSTMAN GO TO CITY”＞. Numerous 25th anniversary commemoration concerts are also coming up in 2014.
Furthermore, the band would be re-releasing their entire collection of their solo live concert DVDs released from avex in Blu-ray form in March. A BOX set featuring the entire collection will also be released.
