MERRY will perform their upcoming tour in zombie make-up

MERRY started their Japan tour to promote their latest single, “ZERO”, in November 13. The two-day tour finale held at SHIBUYA-AX.

EGG BRAIN, KARASU, THE CHERRY COKE$, and GIRUGAMESH joined MERRY as guests on the tour. D’ERLANGER was the guest for the Thursday, January 23 show. Since bassist, Tetsu, was still under medical care, YUKKE of MUCC replaced him on bass. D’ERLANGER and MERRY both brought their own flavors to the energetic concert that embodied the feel of “Now”. Vocalist Gara informed the crowd of Tetsu’s recovery progress during the encore. MERRY announced that Tetsu did not wish for the band to stop playing, and that the remaining four members will go on an upcoming Japan tour. The crowd applauded jubilantly.

The upcoming tour will start on Saturday, April 12 and will be called “THE ZOMBIE ~JIGOKUNI OCHITA YAROUDOMO~”. For the tour, the band will be in zombie makeup for every show. Flyers with Gara in zombie makeup were handed out after the show. The title of the tour conjures up images of “the undead rising up from the depths of hell.” The tour finale at Zepp Diver City on Saturday May 24 will be titled “-[D•D•D]-“. Attendees who come in zombie makeup will receive a small gift. The meaning of “-[D•D•D]-“ has not been revealed yet. The ticket prices are labeled as ¥4590 (hell) and ¥10,590 (heaven). The VIP heaven tickets are only available for May 24 and include a special B1 poster and rehearsal invitation.

MERRY’s last tour was titled “Devour” and was full of adversity. There is no question that their comeback will begin in spring 2014.

MUCC’s YUKKE Chosen As Support Bassist For MERRY’s Final Tour Concerts

ue to bassist Tetsu's injury, MERRY has been using a support bassist for their nationwide tour held in promotion of their newest single “ZERO.” The band has purposely hired different support bassists for different shows, including RYO (defspiral), Kenjiro Murai (cali≠gari, the CYCLE), and kazu (Kagerou). It was also revealed that defspiral’s RYO would be stepping in as support bassist again for the event “Over The Edge ‘13,” which was held at Shibuya Public Hall on December 31. MUCC’s YUKKE will be participating as support bassist for the final tour performances that will be held at SHIBUYA-AX on January 23 and 24.

MUCC and MERRY have a deep friendship, and the two bands have performed together numerous times since their indie years. YUKKE commented, “I’m going to play with all I’ve got on both days, to the point that it will make Tetsu nervous (lol).”

One of the draws of “TOUR2013-2014 ‘devour act 3’ -CHAOS-” has been the featuring of various guest bands. So far, EGG BRAIN, Karasu, THE CHEERY COKE$ and girugämesh have stepped onto the stage as guest bands. The guest band for the show on January 23 will be D’ERLANGER and the January 24 show will feature two guest bands, Karasu and THE CHERRY COKE$.

MERRY has taken this tragic incident of temporarily losing their bassist and turned it around into a big positive by recruiting powerful support musicians. Tickets are still available.

Visual-kei New Year's Eve Event “Over The Edge” to be Held Again in 2013

"Over The Edge" is an event that takes place at the end of each year and features many bands from the visual-kei scene. "Over The Edge '13" will be held on December 31 at Shibuya Public Hall.

A total of twelve artists will perform, including DaizyStripper, DIAURA, YUKIYA FUJITA, heidi., lynch., MERRY, Mix Speaker's,Inc., Moran, MUCC、R-Shitei、Sadie, and vistlip.

The special feature of this event is "New Year's Gift Session Bands." This year, four session bands will be performing. The first is called "Hatafuri Yaku," which features TATSUROU (MUCC) and umi (vistlip). The second band is a session band formed by seek (Mix Speaker's,Inc.) in which Gara (MERRY) will also participate. The third is a session band from Reo (lynch.) and the last is a session band featuring all the members of Resistar Records (DOG inThe Parallel World Orchestra, BugLug. and Blu-BiLLioN).

Merry's Tetsu Takes a Break due to Live Accident

Japanese band Merry announced that their bassist Tetsu will take a break from live activities to recover from an accident that happened at their live on October 12th.

Two weeks ago the band held a live at CRAZYMAMA KINGDOM in Okayama and during the live Tetsu was injured due to stage diving. We don't know exactly what happened but they immediately took him to a hospital where he stayed for medical check-up.

Now the band stated that the bassist suffers from spinal cord damage. Fortunately it seems like he will fully recover but it will take about three months. Tetsu stated that he doesn't want the band to cancel the upcoming lives, so they decided to perform with a good friend of the band who will act as support bassist.

We hope Tetsu will get better soon and wish him a fast recovery.

MERRY Ba.テツ(tetsu) has been hospitalized for medical checkup as he has been injured in an accident occurred at the auditorium floor at their live at Okayama CRAZY MAMA at 2013/10/12, and he has recovered his consciousness afterwards.

MERRY and lynch. unite; ＜Freaks Addict Tour beyond＞ here at last!

On October 2, Osaka’s BIG CAT set the stage for ＜Freaks Addict Tour beyond＞ an event jointly organized by MERRY and lynch. This tour, which is scheduled to have 14 performances throughout the country, will feature these two as the main act, in addition to having various co-performers throughout the shows. The performance on this first say featured appearances by DIAURA and defspiral. The passionate and energetic performances by these four groups allowed the Osaka audience a taste of a rare level of excitement.

One point that’s worth emphasizing is that the level of excitement and energy during this show transcends the dimension of a usual event/tour. For example, on this particular night, MERRY and lynch. both did covers of each other’s songs. This idea was also put into practice during their January-February 2012 "Freaks Addict Tour", however this time around it didn’t just stop there. This time, lynch.’s Hazuki made an appearance during DIAURA’s show, and defspiral featured MERRY on stage; they even went so far as to even organize duets for both band’s songs. What’s more, this mixing and interchanging of members isn’t just limited to the two vocalists; it’s been reported that in the performances to come, various surprising member interchanges will take place, differing from location to location. On 10/5 they are planning to play together with Kanojo In The Display in Kagoshima, and again with the same lineup on the 6th in Fukuoka, however there’s sure to be something special to take place at that time as well.

This "Freaks Addict Tour beyond" is scheduled to conclude at the final location of SHIBUYA-AX on November 15th. However, in the performances leading up to that finale, there are sure to be happenings that even the performing members themselves would not have been able to predict. This fresh and stimulating tour is definitely worth experiencing; further details as to the upcoming schedule, performance lineup, and location timetable can be found at the site below.

MERRY to Release New Single in November

Japanese band MERRY announced the release of a brand new single in November!

There aren't many details available yet but at least we can give you the basic information: The title for their new release is "ZERO" and it will drop on November 6th. Stay tuned for more details on it!

Furthermore, they will go on tour that is titled "「devour act 3」-CHAOS-". The tour starts on November 7th with a live for fan-club members. But don't worry! As of November 8th everyone is allowed to attend their lives. The tour ends with two lives at Shibuya-AX, the first one on January 23rd and the second one one day later.
