Two Members of Girugamesh Revealed that They're Brothers
Girugamesh's guitarist Nii and drummer Ryo are brothers! That's the exciting fact they've revealed today on their new twitter account.
The band has an official twitter account for a long time already but a new official account gained attention among fans. Today Nii and Ryo opened their "combined" account and already the name raised questions: brother_grgm.
Their first tweet said: “We’ve started a twitter account as brothers! Please treat us well! Big brother & Ryo.” Shortly after that they explained: “We’re really brothers related by blood. We've kept it a secret for the past 10 years.” Also bassist Shuu commented on this saying that after their 10th anniversary this would be a good time to finally reveal it. And that maybe now you’re looking at old interviews and other things in a different way.
There has been a small rumor about this for a few years but since the members never commented on it it wasn't taken too seriously and stayed rather unnoticed. Now Nii and Ryo confirmed it by themselves.

girugamesh's Europe Tour and Details of Best Album
In addition to the release of their best album on March 26, girugamesh has announced that they will be holding a European tour entitled "girugamesh 2014 Europe tour "MONSTER."
For girugamesh, who will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of their formation in 2014, this is their first overseas tour in three years. Following the end of their nationwide tour "girugamesh 2014 tour 'MONSTER,'" which begins on April 1 at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO, the members will set off for the Ukraine. The European tour will consist of shows in fourteen cities in nine different countries including Russia, England, France and Germany.
girugamesh's October 2013 performance at SHIBUYA-AX, entitled "G#," was live broadcast to movie theaters in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Indonesia and recordings of the performance were shown in Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, and Brazil. Their new album "MONSTER" was also released in Europe and Taiwan, showing that girugamesh is proactively trying to market themselves overseas. girugamesh has released a trailer video for the European tour using the song "Resolution."
They have also released details about their best album. The release date will be March 26 and the title is "LIVE BEST." However, it is not a live album. For these natural live performers, it is an album overflowing with lively motion in which listeners will be able to feel the band's presence even on CD.
The best album will include tracks from their early days such as "Shadan" and "Omae ni Sasageru Minikui Koe" as well as previous singles and album tracks for a comprehensive selection of eighteen songs. The best album will feature upgraded and remixed tracks by the "new" girugamesh, who has gone through many transformations in their history as a band. The songs are meant to reproduce the feeling of their live performances. The first press will include a DVD with thirteen music videos, and the regular edition will include the track "Future" for a total of nineteen tracks.

Girugamesh to Visit Europe on "MONSTER" Tour 2014
The last time European fans of Japanese Rock band girugamesh had the chance to see this band live was in 2011 and now, three years later, the band announced to visit them again!

MASAAKI YAGUCHI (MUCC), NoGoD, and ROACH to Participate “MONSTER BOX”
As previously reported, an event called "MONSTER BOX" will be held on February 2, 2014 at Shinkiba STUDIO COAST featuring artists such as girugamesh and ARTEMA. NoGoD, ROACH, and DJ MASAAKI YAGUCHI (MUCC) are the second set of artists to be announced for the event.
"MONSTER BOX Vol.00" is an event that is being held in order to shape and enlighten the world about NWOJHM (new wave of Japanese heavy music), a new category in the loud rock scene. Three new artists have been announced to further this goal.
The first artist is NoGoD, a group led by vocalist Dancho and currently enlivening people's living rooms. Other artists are ROACH from Okinawa and as a DJ, MASAAKI YAMAGUCHI (MUCC), who is active all overt the world and transcends genre.
Combined with the previously announced artists girugamesh, ARTEMA, and German band Eskimo Callboy, this event will be a gathering of artists from different parts of the current loud rock scene. It seems as though this grouping will bring about some provocation for the current Japanese loud rock scene.
The general sale tickets will be available starting on Sunday, January 12, 2014. "And more…" is currently listed in the artist column, and a third group of artists will be announced at a later time.

girugamesh Holds Event Featuring Foreign Band & Ticket Pre-Reservation Begins
girugamesh will be holding a new event featuring bands like ARTEMA at Shinkiba STUDIO COAST on February 2, 2014.
The title of the event is "MONSTER BOX Vol.00." The event was started in order to shape and educate the world about the new musical category known as NWOJHM, or the "new wave of Japanese heavy music."
"Bands who cannot overcome various musical walls have died. Let's strike out with the attitude of the new generation, launching a beacon to raise the curtain on a new era!" -performers of "MONSTER BOX Vol.00"
This statement has been endorsed by the three bands that have been announced as the first set of performers for the event. From Japan are girugamesh and ARTEMA, and German band ESKIMO CALLBOY, who just made their debut in Japan, will also participate. Each of these bands are strong performers who can overcome the walls between musical genres and take off all over the world. Fans are deeply curious to see what kind of impact their appearance will have on the Japanese loud rock scene.

Cast For Last Chapter Of ＜Splendid Violent Emotion＞ Revealed
“Vol. 7” of ＜Splendid Violent Emotion＞ hosted by DANGER CRUE will be held simultaneously at Tokyo and Osaka on December 15. The “Last Chapter” would be held at Shinjuku BLAZE on December 23. Information on all events have now been revealed.
A total of 16 bands have been announced to make their appearances at [Tokyo HEAT] and [Osaka HEAT] (eight artists per event) to determine the newcomer bands that will be eligible to perform at the ＜Splendid Violent Emotion＞ “Vol. 7”. All participants have survived a careful screening process to come on top of a great number of bands who applied to earn their spot in the event. “Tokyo HEAT” will be held on November 12, at Meguro Rock-May-Kan and [Osaka HEAT] will be held on November 19, at Osaka RUIDO. Admissions will be free for both events, so why don’t you check them out.
Four bands who receive the most number of events from each event will win the right to participate in “Vol. 7”. Furthermore, the band who receives the most number of votes at “Vol. 7” will compete against Minus Jin-Say Orchestra, the winner of “Vol. 6”, at the “Last Chapter”. The winner of this competition will be performing as opening act at SID’s Visual BANG! ~SID 10th Anniversary FINAL PARTY”, which will be held on December 27th, at Nippon Budokan. Don’t miss out on seeing the newly-dug-up talent blossom on the stage of Nippon Budokan.
As it has been announced already, girugämesh and UNiTE will be making a guest appearance at the “Last Chapter” held at Shinjuku BLAZE on December 23rd. Furthermore, it has been announced that Kameleo and DIV have been added to the list. As a result, the “Last Chapter” would feature a lineup consisting of DANGER CRUE RECORDS’ most popular bands. girugamesh to Perform in Macao’s Largest Rock Festival
It was recently announced that girugamesh will be performing in Macao’s largest rock festival, HUSH!! Full Band 2013.
HUSH!! Full Band, which will be held for the ninth time in 2013, is a large rock festival which features popular local Macaoan bands and invites the top bands from all throughout Asia to participate. It will take place on 11/23 at the Macao Cultural Centre, and admission is free.
girugamesh has held many performances abroad, including three in Europe, one in the US, and has participated in big rock festivals in Germany, Finland, and Sweden; however, this will be their first time playing at a rock festival in Asia.
Following their 2012 release of their single, “Zantetsuken”, they held a Taiwan release, and their new album “MONSTER” which will go on sale on 11/27 is set to be released both in Taiwan and Japan simultaneously. This is proof that girugamesh, who have up until this point released their CDs in Europe and America, are starting to gain popularity in Asia as well.
