J × AA= Set To Hold Two-Man Event: Meaning To Appear As Guest Act

It has been confirmed that J and AA= would be holding a two-man event at Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST on May 1.

LUNA SEA and THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS have both been leaders of the Japanese rock scene since the 90’s. The bassists for the two bands will be collaborating to hold an event together.

LUNA SEA’s J, who will be celebrating his 25th career anniversary, still goes on strong with releasing albums for both LUNA SEA and his solo project in 2013. Takeshi Ueda, likewise, has not slowed down since THE MAD CAPSULE MARKETS went on break and he founded his solo project AA=. He released two albums in 2013, and has continued to actively offer songs to other popular artists. This would be the first time for the two to collaborate with their solo projects. We cannot wait to see what kind of chemical reaction would be induced by this long-awaited collaboration.

Furthermore, Meaning, the band to which ELLEGARDEN’s bassist Yuichi Takada belongs, will be appearing as guest act.

Pre-order tickets went on sale beginning noon, February 10. Public release will be at 10AM, March 15.

AA=’s Split-Album “#” Features X-Ray Picture Of Takeshi Ueda’s Skull

 AA= will be revealing information on the two-consecutive-months, split-album releases, “#” and “4”.

The split-album will be released in the form of two very different works: the future-oriented “#”, which comes equipped with a strong sense of message towards modern society and AA=’s signature electronic sound packed with aggression and the retrospective “4”, which pushes the lively band sound to the forefront as a means of bringing out the unique lyrical melodies of Takeshi Ueda. These two polar-opposite albums, when combined, make up the complete original split-album.

The cover art picture for “#”, which when combined with the artwork from “4” makes a complete picture, has now been revealed. The artwork features an x-ray picture of Ueda’s skull. The rows of alphabet imprinted there is the tracklist for “#”. Now, all tracks to be featured on “#” have been revealed.

As both works would be released as half of a puzzle, it will come equipped with a 2CD casing.
