flumpool announce best-of album + nationwide tour
flumpool will be releasing a best-of album next spring. They will also hold a nationwide tour starting on April 19th.
Since their major debut in 2008, the band has released 16 singles, 1 mini-album, and 3 full albums. The track list for their upcoming best-of album is currently undecided, but we can expect it to be a compilation of their history.
Meanwhile, flumpool's upcoming tour will kick off on April 19th at Fukuoka Sun Palace & Hall for a total of 28 shows in 21 locations. Ticket pre-reservations will be available starting January 6th.

flumpool to live broadcast their Christmas day live
flumpool will be holding a studio live on Christmas Day, December 25th. It's been revealed that this will receive a live broadcast via Nico Nico Namahousou, Ustream, and YouTube.
The studio where the live will be held is the place where flumpool has recorded many of their songs. During the live, they will perform numbers that represented each year since their debut in 2008. On Nico Nico Namahousou, there will be a special program right before the live at 5:00 pm.
Additionally, flumpool will release their live DVD/Blu-ray "flumpool 5th Anniversary Special Live 'For our 1,826 days & your 43,824 hours' at Nippon Budokan" on December 25th.

Flumpool To Release DVD&Blu-ray In 5th Honour Anniversary
The foursome band flumpool made the Christmas present for its fans. The band has announced the release of DVD&Blu-ray “flumpool 5th Anniversary Special 2Days Live - For our 1,826 days & your 43,824 hours - ” on December 25.
On October 1 and 2 flumpool performed at Budokan in honour of 5th anniversary since the band’s debut. 20 000 fans for 2 days came to celebrate the significant event in the band’s history and to listen to the songs from the latest single ”Tsuyoku Hakanaku /Belief – Hare Wo Matsu Kimi”.
The band is celebrating its anniversary at Budokan for the 2nd time. 4 years ago flumpool acted a 2-day-show in honour of the 1st anniversary, where all the tickets were sold out. It is an undeniable breakthrough to play there after one year since the debut for such a young band. Many Japanese bands are seeking to play a live in entirely filled concert hall Budokan.
The band has performed its debut song “Hana Ni Nare”, a renowned track “Kimi Ni Todoke” from the same titled anime, “Akashi”, the special Budokan version of “OLDIES but GOODIES”, and many more. They are also planning to record the documentary to an upcoming release.

Flumpool - First Collaboration with Mayday to Become “Oshin” Theme
flumpool, celebrating their fifth debut anniversary on October 1, and Taiwanese popular band Mayday have collaborated for their first song entitled “Belief ~Haru wo Matsu Kimi e~” (Japanese release date TBA) which will become the opening theme for the film “Oshin”.
“Oshin” was originally an NHK serial drama which began on April 4, 1983 and ran until May 31, 1984 as part of the network’s 30-year anniversary. Broadcast not only in Japan, but in a total of 68 countries including China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Egypt and Iran, it is considered to be a masterpiece of television drama both domestically and abroad.
The work carries an overlying theme of the basic human value of “life”, and so too does the theme song which brought flumpool, a band representative of modern Japan, and Mayday, who are enjoying massive popularity in central Asia, together to create this theme, which will express these values across physical and linguistic borders.
The theme song “Belief ~Haru wo Matsu Kimi e~” is a song created by flumpool and Mayday together, boasting a groovy sound. With lyrics in Japanese handled in a gripping duet between vocalists ASHIN of Mayday and flumpool’s Ryuta Yamamura, the bands have created a stunning ballad.
flumpool and Mayday started a close professional relationship after appearing together at Oct. 2011′s “SUPER SLIPPA PART2” event in Taiwan, an event that would become flumpool’s first international appearance. After that, the band was invited to attend the awards ceremony by the Taiwanese digital music provider KKBOX, where they won the International Digital Music New Artist Award in Jan. 2012 and to hold their first international one-man shows at Taiwan Legacy on Mar. 1-2, 2013. The band presented their in-show comments entirely in Chinese, earning even more attention. At that time, Mayday called flumpool “average” Chinese speakers, saying that seeing the band made them want to continue expressing themselves through music wherever “average people” have dreams.
Moreover, following the Mar. 1 performance at Taiwan Legacy, flumpool’s album “experience”, released in Japan on Dec. 12, 2012, also saw releases in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. The central Asian release, in addition to the full “experience” album, also contained a cover of Mayday’s “OAOA”, with Japanese lyrics written by Ryota Yamamura, which provided a different interpretation of the original song, as well as a Chinese cover of flumpool’s “Akashi” entitled “Shoumei” which the two groups worked on together. As a result of their partnership, Mayday also came to Japan for the first time in April 2013 to perform with flumpool at NHK Hall.
Finally, the first flumpoolxMayday collaboration has come to fruition with the theme of the film “Oshin”. The film will open concurrently in the band’s home countries of Japan and Taiwan, setting up the song to become a breakthrough hit in all of Asia.

flumpool to release their 5th anniversary single
flumpool will be celebrating their 5th anniversary on October 1st. To commemorate this occasion, the band will release a new single titled "Tsuyoku Hakanaku / Belief ~Haru wo Matsu Kimi e~" on October 2nd.
"Tsuyoku Hakanaku" is a new song that is said to present what's to come for the band. Meanwhile, "Belief ~Haru wo Matsu Kimi e~" is a collaboration song with Mayday, and it will be used as the theme song for the movie 'Oshin'. For its coupling track, the single will include a new song called "brilliant days".
In order to write "Belief ~Haru wo Matsu Kimi e~", Yamamura Ryuta (Vo) read the movie's script. He was deeply moved by the protagonist's will to live.
The single's limited edition will come with a DVD containing 'How have we felt for 5 years? ~flumpool's 5th anniversary historic DVD~', which is a 60-minute digest of the flumpool's history. The regular edition will come with a bonus track called 'OLDIES but GOODIES-flumpool 5th year anniversary non-stop mix-', which is a non-stop remix of the band's 20 singles.
Furthermore, flumpool will hold an anniversary live on October 1st and 2nd at Nippon Budokan. Tickets will go on sale on August 31st.
