Three members of SOPHIA form MICHAEL, teaser video of new songs released

Three members of the popular rock group, SOPHIA, formed a new group called MICHAEL. The new group, consisting of Mitsuru Matsuoka (vocals), Kazutaka Toyota (guitar), Yoshitomo Akamatsu (drums), have released a teaser video featuring their new songs.

MICHAEL made headlines by announcing the formation of the band the other day. The teaser video was broadcast live yesterday, November 30, on Mitsuru Matsuoka’s program, “Mitsuru Matsuoka NO YONONAKA WOTASHII KOTO DARAKE!” and the following show, “Matsuotter NO URAYO NO WOTA Channel”. Both shows are Niconico live broadcasts.

Akamatsu appeared on both shows, and Toyota appeared on “Matsuotter NO URAYO NO WOTA Channel”. They talked at length about the formation of MICHAEL and the band’s outlook. When the teaser video finally played, fans flooded the comment board with words like, “Too cool!”, “I want to hear more!”, “It makes me tear up”, and “I was waiting for this!” The video can be seen on Niconico Live’s “Timeshift”, but BARKS also go their hands the video. Those people who missed the live broadcast, and those who are feeling like, “I want to watch it again!”, can check out the video on BARKS’ website as well.

These new songs can be heard on MICHAEL’s first chapter, starting in 2014. However, the band will put on a concert called “Chapter Zero” on December 24 at ZEPP NAMBA, and on December 25 at ZEPP TOKYO.

Regular ticket sales start on December 7. Premium ticket purchasers will receive an official MICHAEL “Zero” T-shirt and will be granted access to the first-come-first-serve seating area 30 minutes before regular ticket holders. All attendees will receive a MICHAEL CD and a “MICHAEL official supporter ‘manics’” Chapter Zero member memorial card as special gifts.

What kind of performance and what kind of music will MICHAEL show us for their “Chapter Zero” concert. Let’s look forward to this special moment of this new beginning.
