DIV : 2nd One-man Live Show Full House at <ZERO ONE>

DIV has just been decided to have the 2nd year anniversary live show at EX THEATER ROPPONGI on May 10, 2014. Their 2nd one-man live show at <ZERO ONE> took place at Shinjuku BLAZE on November 3, 2013.

The tickets for the show sold out in 60 seconds, making the venue packed. The sound effect before the show started and the audience joined in applause. With almost comfortable tension at the venue, an intro from ‘Golden Cinema Gekijo’ started while projecting a silhouette of vocal, CHISA on screen. The fans cheered, the curtain dropped and there appeared the band on stage. The audience raised their hands high up in the air as the long night of excitement started.

Chobi (bass) fueled the fans and they responded. CHISA called out saying, “let’s have fun” playing ‘LOVE IS DEAD’. ‘Dokusai Geek’ started with accurate drumming. With the red lights effect, their songs that are both beautiful and intense echo in the venue uplifting everyone on site.

The lights turned from red to purple during ‘ANSWER’. The band guitarist, Shogo’s rock tasteful solo sounded like it stung us. The audience kept calling names of band members after the song in the dark. CHISA finally spoke out breaking the noise, “Good evening, we are DIV.” He continued with the start of ‘TASTE OF LIFE’ saying, “This show has got all of our thoughts and hearts. Just embrace it all.” The piano sound alone was heard, followed by a disco funk like number, ‘Seki-rara Lala’ in which Chobi showed off his groovy slap technique shortening his guitar strap, strumming it all right and away. This comfortable feel created the groove of the night. Their musical depth and variety of performance techniques never cease to amaze us.

‘Place’ began as if the venue was taken by a sudden wind blowing. The lyrics speak straight through like they are claiming that is their place. In ‘Chocolate Prayer’, the lights turned red again while the fans gained excitement, the band members dashed across and all over the stage. CHISA picked up a guitar to start playing ‘Miseinen’. CHISA played the vocal part by using guitar at times. As their fans remained completely in love with the tunes by CHISA’s guitar melody, CHISA and Shogo sang in turns the emotion of the song in ‘Hotarubi’ to take the fans even greater level of excitement.

Starting with a stretchy vocal in ‘PieceS’ through ‘interlude’ and ‘ASTERIOS’, stage production featured the color green, DIV’s emblem was lit up on stage almost looking like a clock ticking the time anxiously. “SWING!” called out CHISA and the members were spotted by light. As the venue heat was rising, ‘RxR’ followed. Drummer satoshi’s twin bass was remarkable in ‘Teddy’. Rocking hard performance was played along the beautiful melodic line. That contrast is one of the best things that makes DIV special. CHISA screamed saying, “Are we ready to change this place into summer!?” and started playing ‘Natsu no Yukue’.

CHISA told fans the next song coming up was the last number. The crowd roared since everyone was hoping the show never ends. “There is a beginning and an end. Where there is an end, something new begins” spoke CHISA. As CHISA inspired the audience with his thoughtful words, the live show title ‘ZERO ONE’ started with everyone’s hearts joined. As if light of hope wrapped us all up, the main stage ended leaving endless applause and calls for encore session. The band members appeared on stage once again in T-shirts. Chobi said, “we are gonna keep evolving, so keep following us!”. Shogo followed, “the tickets sold out because of you. and, keep doing that, promise?”. The quiet one of the members, satoshi, spoke his thankful heart to fans, not through his words but eyes.

“I want many of you know why I do music and hear music. One reason is because I want people to come to live show. Next time we will target double the size in concert, that’s our next goal. Just as many musicians have demonstrated the right path, we want to become someone else’s guide for their walk. And lastly and not the least, we hope our live show becomes a place for you all”, spoke CHISA emotionally.

“Let’s make a riot!”, “Do you want my milky latte!?” cried CHISA to fuel the screaming fans. A techno pop like number ‘milky latte’ started. The very last number was a happy and fun tune with straight melodic line, ‘Taiyo no Uta’. The impressive thing about the last was that they spoke out to fans saying they would continue to believe in possibilities and keep moving on.

As the ending sound effect played, a monitor came down on stage to project a video, in which the remarks were made from “ZERO ONE” oricon indies chart no.1, <DIV Haru no Kanshasai tour> 2nd one-man live show ticket record short sale in 60 seconds and February’s upcoming 2 single releases. The fans cheered. A message from the band was shown on a screen in the very end, “DIV will keep running next year” and an announcement about May 10th, 2014 (2nd anniversary) live show at EX THEATER ROPPINGI was made. The show will be the largest capacity in shows DIV has ever done. Part of the music video from ‘Mousou Nikki’ was place in the end while the excited fans saw off the curtain coming down for <ZERO ONE> event.

It’s only a year and a half since they officially started. On top of their gorgeous looks, DIV is proved with authentic technique and highly musical profile. Stay tuned.
