BugLug is pulling along the visual-kei scene with great force with their 2014 slogan of "bucchigiri" (winning by a large margin). At the event "KING GHIDORA," which was held on February 12 at SHIBUYA-AX along with SuG and vistlip, BugLug closed out the show in their new costumes. Following the end of the performance, they uploaded new artist photos to their official website.
From the beginning of the year, BugLug used photos of gold skeletons in place of their artist photos, which caused a controversy. Vocalist Issei spoke about the new costumes and their thoughts about their March single.
"We gave the single the title of "Hone" ("Bones"), which comes from the fact that we want you to see more of the essential parts of people and love them. We expressly made our first artist photo for the single that of bones, which we did with the same intention as when we used silhouettes in the past. We wanted to highlight the band 'BugLug' one more time, without the preconceptions people are prone to have based on appearance. We want you to love the exotic sounds that are the essence of the song; that is, we want you to love us from our bones, and we used that image so you could feel that spiritual essence. The theme of this single is 'love.' Personally, I think this song is a love song."
On February 19, BugLug released their live DVD "BugLug ONEMAN TOUR 2013 'Gaisen Shinkou~GAISEN PARADE~' FINAL 'Tokyo Shuurai,'" which contains footage of their December 2013 performance at Zepp DiverCity. "Hone," BugLug's second single release in as many months, will come out on March 19. Their previous single, "HICCHAKA×MECCHAKA" reached number five on the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking. There are video ads for both titles on BugLug's official YouTube channel.
