内容紹介 : 

この「キンモクセイ」は、前田敦子、大島優子、柏木由紀による３人ユニット曲です。つまり、2011年の「第３回選抜総選挙」の「トップ３によるユニット曲」であり、「１期生、２期生、３期生のユニット」でもあり、更には「チームＡ、Ｋ、Ｂのユニット」とも言えます。もうひとつ付け加えるなら「フライングゲットの１列目３人のユニット」とも。ということは「前田敦子在籍時代」を代表するユニットメンバーと言えます。最初にして最後となった、この３人の組み合わせです。

PV preview for AKB48’s upcoming single “UZA” revealed

The PV preview to AKB48’s upcoming single “UZA” that is set for release on October 31st has been revealed.

The song is a dance number that expresses the “Uzai (=annoying)” feeling that you tend to restrain yourself in love.  It is also said to have the “highest degree of difficulty in AKB48 history”, as the girls kept taking dance lessons for about 2~3 weeks until the day before the shooting.

This music video was directed by Joseph Kahn who also directed AKB48’s previous single “Gingham Check” music video.

・前作「真夏のSounds good !」は初回出荷枚数200万枚を突破!初日に117.1万枚を売り上げ、歴代シングル初日売上の最高記録を樹立しました。

・第4回AKB48選抜総選挙でファンによって選ばれた64人によるシングルです!!

昨年は前田敦子が1位に返り咲き大盛り上がりとなった総選挙。今年はその前田敦子が出馬を辞退し大波乱の幕開けとなりました。

結果は大島優子が1位を獲得!!総投票数は昨年より22万票上回り、138万4122票となりました。

過去の総選挙シングルは「ヘビーローテーション」、「フライングゲット」といったファンに中でも大人気なノリのいい楽曲。今回のシングルは…?!

AKB48 releases digest video for “Gingham Check”

AKB48 has just released a digest video for their upcoming single, “Gingham Check“, through their official YouTube channel!

“Gingham Check” is AKB48’s 27th single, and it’s sung by the top 16 girls from AKB48’s 4th Senbatsu General Election. This is Oshima Yuko’s 2nd time claiming center for a single, after “Heavy Rotation” (released August 2010).

As reported earlier, the video for “Gingham Check” is directed by famous Korean music video director Joseph Kahn. In the video, the girls are divided into two groups with Oshima’s team in black and Watanabe Mayu’s team in red.

“Gingham Check” will be released on August 29th.

AKB48's 27th single Gingham Check revealed it's jacket covers a few days ago. The tracklist has also been revealed!

The single will be released on August 29th. Atsuko Maeda who will be graduating on August 27th will make an appearance in the music video for the song "Yume no Kawa".

AKB48 reveals the jacket covers for their upcoming single, MV to be directed by Joseph Kahn

It was announced that the music video for AKB48’s upcoming single “Gingham Check” will be directed by famous Korean music video director Joseph Kahn.


Joseph Kahn has worked with various big artists for their music videos, such as U2, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Backstreet Boys, and more. He also won a Grammy for Eminem’s “Without Me” music video. Mr. Kahn who claims that he grew up watching Japanese pop culture since his childhood days, commented, “I wanted to make the MV very Japanese-like. I hope the fans see it as new style J-POP music video, just like a joyful dreamland which is big scaled and enjoyable.”


The jacket covers for the 27th single were also revealed. There will be “Type-A” which will be Oshima Yuko solo version, and “Type-B” which will feature top 16 members from the general election. Each type will have 2 different editions.


“Gingham Check” is scheduled for a release on August 29th that will be right after Maeda Atsuko’s graduation from the group, and one of the coupling tracks for “Type-A” titled “Yume no Kawa” is said to be the send-off song for Maeda.
