L'Arc～en～Ciel Announces Details of Two-Day Performance in March at JAPAN SPORT COUNCIL

As previously announced,L'Arc～en～Ciel will be performing a two day concert at Tokyo's JAPAN SPORT COUNCIL on March 21-22. Further details have just been released to the public. 

On Jan. 8, L'Arc~en~Ciel made big news by announcing their two day performance at the JAPAN SPORT COUNCIL for their second time at the historic venue, whose “L'Arc～en～Ciel WORLD TOUR 2012 THE FINAL” was previously their first time there “as a rock band”. Not only will this year's performance be the group's second two-day performance at the venue, but it will also be their first live performance in one year and ten months. Since then, more important details have come to light, which are presented below. 

The performances are scheduled to take place over two days, Fri., March 21 and Sat., March 22. Both shows are scheduled to open at 2 pm, with performances beginning at 5 pm. General ticket sales will begin from Sun., March 9, 2014. The venue will be all-seated, with tickets retailing at 10,000 yen each. Also, LE-CIEL members will be able to apply for fanclub tickets beginning from 12 pm on Jan. 15. 

Continuing on. Looking back on the final LED display shown as the “L'Arc～en～Ciel WORLD TOUR 2012 THE FINAL” performance ended that one year and ten months ago, the message read, “L'Arc～en～Ciel will return”. Those words will come true soon enough, this coming spring. 

Though it hasn't even been two years since their massive world tour that covered 14 venues in ten countries, with performances in front of a total of 450,000 people, surely many fans thought that it would be much longer before L'arc~en~Ciel performed live again, considering hyde's continuing activities with VAMPS, yukihiro's work with both acid android and geek sleep sheep and so on. 

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer on the JAPAN SPORT COUNCIL building, as it has been chosen as a venue for the 2020 Olympic Games. That means it was easy to imagine that there would be no second chance to see L'Arc~en~Ciel on that stage again. However, that doesn't mean that this performance was not an omen of things to come. At the same time, on Mar. 19, the day before the performances, the band will be releasing a complete collection of 18 live performances from “heavenly~films~” to “WORLD TOUR 2012 LIVE at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN” on Blu-ray. To be able to see their past performances in higher quality than ever before is sure to give fans even more to discover, and increase expectations for future shows to come. The upcoming two-day performance at JAPAN SPORT COUNCIL, as well, is set to be done with their typical sense of timing. 

Though it is still unclear exactly what plans the band has for their JAPAN SPORT COUNCIL performances this year, L'Arc~en~Ciel has always been a band that has defied even the highest expectations. Surely, 2012's performance is still fresh in the memories of many; their entrance, with a marching band, reminiscent of the Olympic Games. Their playing underneath a blue sky, lit by the flame of an Olympic-torch like platform. “Anata”, played on the lower stage amidst the swaying of tens of thousands of glow sticks. The multicolored balloons and fireworks painting the night sky above a performance of “Neji”. In that moment, it was as if a real rainbow were arching across the night sky.

Outdoor performances below a vast sky suit L'Arc～en～Ciel very well. That could be one of the reasons why they chose the word for “rainbow” to be their name. Just as they can suddenly create rainbows from the surprise, joy and hopes that many give to them, surely they too will accept many things once again from all of us. Spring 2014 will come around again, just as L'Arc~en~Ciel has returned with it.

L'Arc-en-Ciel to hold a 2-day live at National Olympic Stadium

It's been revealed that L'Arc-en-Ciel will be holding a live concert on March 21 and 22nd at National Olympic Stadium.

L'Arc-en-Ciel wrapped up their 20th anniversary world tour '20th L'Anniversary WORLD TOUR 2012' at National Olympic Stadium on May 26 and 27th of 2012. As such, this will be the band's second time to hold a live at this venue in their career. From the end of 2012 to 2013, the members have each been focusing on their solo projects. 

Additionally, all 18 of L'Arc-en-Ciel's previously released live DVDs will hit stores in Blu-ray form on March 19. Prior to this, a compilation of all 18 DVDs will be released as a COmplete Production Edition 'L'Aive Blu-ray BOX -Limited Edition-' on February 26.

L’Arc~en~Ciel Rereleases All 18 Live DVDs In Blu-ray Form

L’Arc~en~Ciel will be rereleasing all 18 live DVDs in Blu-ray form. All those memorable L’Arc~en~Ciel concert scenes will be resurrected in high quality picture and sound. Release date will be March 19th, 2014 (Wed).

The works that will be seeing a rerelease are all the video works between and including “heavenly ~films~” and “WORLD TOUR 2012 LIVE at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN”. All the works released after 2007 were shot in HD form; thus, they will naturally unleash their full potential. All the works recorded before that were shot in SD form, but with modern technology, they will be optimally converted to HD quality.

Furthermore, a limited edition box set including all 18 works, “L’Alive Blu-ray BOX –Limited Edition-“ (18BD + 31CD), will be released on February 26th, 2014 (Wed). The box set will come with the aforementioned 18 live Blu-ray (18BD) works in addition to the 18 live CD works (31CD). The CD includes the band’s final show for “WORLD TOUR 2012”, “20th L’Anniversary WORLD TOUR 2012 THE FINAL LIVE at Kokuritsu Kyogijou”.

In addition, the box set will come equipped with limited edition goods that will only be available through the purchase of the box set. “L’Alive Blu-ray BOX –Limited Edition-“ will be exclusively produced on order. Pre order deadline is January 8th, 2014 (Wed).

L'Arc~en~Ciel's Hyde And Tetsuya To Participate At DEAD END Tribute Album

50 artist have gathered together to compose a celebration cover album for DEAD END's 25th anniversary. Each will not only compose something with their own bands, but also will form new sub-units creating amazing mixes. "V.A. / DEAD END Tribute Album" will be released on September 4th.

Legendary band DEAD END made an unexpected comeback in 2009, and now all these artists will create a cover album of DEAD END's new and old hit songs to celebrate once again their anniversary.

L'Arc-en-Ciel Announce Details for DVD Release of New York Performance!

It has just become known that L'Arc-en-Ciel will be releasing a DVD of their performance at Madison Square Garden in New York, which had been part of their WORLD TOUR 2012.

The performance had been held on March 25th and marked the first performance of a Japanese artist at the famous venue. The DVD will include 19 songs of the performance and will come in a first press and a regular edition. Either version will consist of two DVDs. However, the limited edition will also come with two CDs that will include the live tracks in audio format as well.

This is in fact a first time release for the band.
 The limited edition will also include a special picture label and a photo book.

The release is scheduled for December 26th!
