IKUO, bassist of BULL ZEICHEN 88 and the choppers, will release his first solo album "R.E.D. ZONE," on February 26. He has now made a trailer video for the album available for viewing on YouTube.
In addition to work with his own bands, IKUO has also participated in live performances and recordings for T.M.Revolution, abingdon boys school, TETSUYA, and JAM Project. He has also participated in recording for Acid Black Cherry, Gackt, and BREAKERZ, making IKUO a bassist who has been active in various arenas. IKUO has done work in a large variety of genres including J-Pop, rock, fusion, and anime music.
This album, which marks the tenth year since IKUO's solo debut, features the song "LONG WAY," an opening theme for the television anime "The Prince of Tennis," a self-cover of "OVERLAP," an opening theme for "Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters," and "Break Out the World," a duet with atsuko, the vocalist of angela. GRANRODEO's guitarist e-ZUKA also participated on the album, making it overall an album that deserves special notice from anime fans.
The album also features the song "V-kei Ppokunai Kyoku," a parody of Golden Bomber's popular song "†Za・V-kei Ppoi Kyoku†." The parody was also composed and arranged by Golden Bomber's music producer tatsuo. It is a spirited song in which Golden Bomber's Utahiroba Jun participates in an unexpected way.
A trailer video in which fans can hear samples of the songs was uploaded on King Records' Official YouTube Channel on February 7. General ticket sales for the March tour "IKUO Solo Live Tour 'R.E.D. ZONE'" began on February 15.
