SPYAIR held their final show for their tour SPYAIR TOUR 2013 “MILLION” on December 27, at Shibuya Public Hall.
This was the band’s first-ever national hall tour, which was held in promotion of their latest album “MILLION”, which marked second place on Oricon. Tickets for all eleven shows sold out immediately after release, revealing the band’s unstoppable momentum. The two-month show came to a close with the performance here at Shibuya Public Hall.
As the SE rang from the speakers and the SPYAIR logo was projected onto the screen, a deafening cheer permeated the entire hall. The show kicked off with the sound of siren which rang as the members of SPYAIR stepped onto the arch-shaped stage set reminiscent of the cover artwork from “MILLION”. The cheer escalated to a deafening volume as the band proceeded to open with “OVER ROAD”.
Various single tracks and hit tunes including “Genjou Destruction” and “Sakura Mitsutsuki” followed one after the other. Various effects including projections and lasers lit up the stage, while at one point, a cheerleading squad stepped onto the stage to further liven up the show.
The show was filled with special surprises including the acoustic performance of “My Friend” in which the members swapped parts as everyone partook in vocals.
The members reappeared wearing tear-drop shaped sunglasses and leather jackets for the encore as they performed “JUST ONE LIFE”, released just recently in November. The show came to a heartwarming close as the entire crowd sang along to “SINGING”.
Off shots from the tour were projected onto the screen after the show came to a close, and at the very end, the band announced their first-ever national Zepp tour which will begin in May 2014, to which the entire crowd roared in joy. We cannot wait to see the evolution of the band as they steadily step up their game. Pre-orders for tickets will begin at 10PM, December 27, on the official SPYAIR mobile website.
As has been announced in the past, the DVD featuring the December 27th concert and a documentary of the tour, “SPYAIR TOUR 2013 ‘MILLION’”, will be released on March 26. In advance to that release, the tour documentary movie, “The documentary of SPYAIR TOUR 2012 ‘MILLION’” will be aired exclusively for just one night at nine theaters across the country on March 9.
