AN CAFE Concludes 10th Anniversary “48-Prefecture” Tour With Nippon Budokan Performance

AN CAFE recently closed out their “48 Prefecture” 10th Anniversary Tour “NYAPPY GO AROUND -Kimi no Machi-”, which went from April-Sept. 2013 with a final performance at the Nippon Budokan, which the band referred to as “Nyappi-ken”, the “48th Prefecture” of Japan.

This show would be the culmination of their tenth year as a group. Fans from around the country, and around the world, would gather here at the Nippon Budokan for a performance that would near two and a half hours in length. When it came time to start the show, it was also time to debut the first calligraphy of the new year, an impressive piece that read “Nyappi-ken”. Then, as the DJ MIX of their currently released singles played through the venue, Teruki (Dr), Yuki (Key), Kanon (Bass), takuya (Guitar) and Miku (Vocals) appeared on stage wearing appropriately gorgeous costumes for the occasion.

For their first song, they heated up the venue instantly with AN CAFE's flagship tune “Smile Ichiban Ii Onna”. The members, too, were immediately energized. Then, with a set list that included both old and new songs such as “Maple Gunman”, “Tekesuta Kousen” and “Hachimitsu +Lemon=?” and “Shoumikigen 2010.01.04” from August 2013's new album “Hikagyaku ZiprocK”, they covered the floor with smiles.

As part of the “Nyappy Scout Caravan” throughout the show, comedic group AMEMIYA then made their appearance as a special guest, known for their close relationship with the band. They then announced Miku and takuya's unit “MaT” and Teruki, Kanon and Yuki in “Pakux2Pakuchi” with their original compositions, which were welcomed by the crowd with warm cheers and smiles, the usual AnCafe atmosphere. Then, AMEMIYA performed a spin-off version of their hit song “Hiyashichuuka Hajimemashita” called “AnCafe Hajimemashita” and gave the members their tenth anniversary gifts.

During the second encore, Miku expressed his gratitude to the fans by saying, “As we celebrate our tenth anniversary, I feel like the love we as AnCafe have for our Cafekko is deeper than ever before,” before performing their customary song dedicated to the fans, “Meguriaeta Kiseki”. The venue was filled with warmth.

Following the performance, it was announce that the band will sponsor a tour for the first time in 2014, entitled “LIVE CAFE Taiban TOUR 2014 “Tomodan Taiteki 3-ban Shoubu”. Operating under the theme of “Making Friends” for the coming year, the band aims to take their fellow bands with them on a nationwide tour for several heated battles. For the first round, the band will be sponsoring the “SM ~SCRAP MONSTERS~” tour along with BugLug, which will begin with a performance at Hibiya Open Air Performance Hall on April 5.
