RUKA, who has had countless hits as the drummer for NIGHTMARE, has a solo project called The LEGENDARY SIX NINE. There is a new album for this project, titled “BELIAL.” The music video clip for the opening song, “six nine,” the cover photo, and the track listing have just been revealed.
RUKA made his solo debut with “Cruel” in March 2010 with the help of PENICILLIN vocalist Hakuei and rapper, Twigy. Three years later, he will release another solo effort called “BELIAL.” This time, RUKA has the help of Yusa (KIDDIE) on vocals, Kei (baroque) and Shinobu on guitar, and Sugiya (Moi dix Mois, ZIZ) on bass. “BELIAL” will be released on October 16. 2013 also marks the 10th anniversary of NIGHTMARE’s debut.
RUKA gets to express the creativity he was not able to express in NIGHTMARE. It is a hard and aggressive sound, but with nice melodies that please the ear. RUKA also treads new ground by using synthesizers on this new album.
RUKA’s creative lyrics are a highlight of his solo project. He sings, “I don’t put too much meaning into lyrics anymore” on the fourth song, titled “KAI.” His abstract lyrics are unique and very RUKA-esque.
Preorders for the album will start on October 6 on iTunes.
