The album cover for GLAY’s November 27 DVD & Blu-ray release, “GLAY Special Live 2013 in HAKODATE GLORIOUS MILLION DOLLAR NIGHT Vol.1,” has just been revealed. The concert was held in the band’s hometown of Hakodate and was their first big-scale outdoor homecoming concert.
The concert has already become legendary for being GLAY’s first outdoor concert in the rain. “DAY2~MANATSUNO GOUHEN~,” which contains footage from July 27 and July 28, will be represented by an image of TAKURO passionately playing the guitar in the heavy rain. Photographer Yusuke Okada captured this mesmerizing image. All of the elements including the rain, the lighting, and the fans’ energy came together in this one amazing photo.
A portion of the 100-page memorial photo collection, taken by Yusuke Okada, was also revealed. This 100-page photo collection of the entire two days is only available in the first edition limited pressing of the COMPLETE SPECIAL BOX. Preorder is highly recommended because once they are sold out, they will not be printed again.
The concert in this DVD & Blu-ray takes place at the historical seaside port, Hakodate. The stage is built to resemble a “kurofune” black boat. GLAY not only plays the hits, but also medleys from their past original records. They played an amazing 81-song set in two hours. The energy of 50,000 people at an outdoor concert is captured in this live DVD Blu-ray.
