girugamesh performs secret live at opening event for GARRET UDAGAWA

On October 4, girugämesh performed during the opening event for the grand opening of "GARRET UDAGAWA".

On this day, a total of three bands performed during the opening event, ASHLEY SCARED THE SKY、HER NAME IN BLOOD、and of course girugämesh. They appeared in this three-man live a special secret guest performance.

The day of the event, even before the show began there was already evidence that it would be a great success: a long line of fans lined up ready to watch the performance. Seeing the maxed-out venue, there was no question about the high expectations for the new live house in Shibuya. Speculations flew as to who the “secret” could be referring to; finally, it was time for the show to begin. As the lights went out, simultaneously an announcement rang through the venue, “It’s a MONSTER!!” and with that, girugämesh was introduced to the stage as the secret guest.

Satoshi, the band’s vocalist, called out to the excited audience, “Are you ready!?” and the band began to perform their first song “Drain” which is the lead song on their album to be released on November 27, “MONSTER”. Right from the start of the stage there was no doubt in the band’s performance as they delivered a heavy and sophisticated song directly into the heart of the audience. Without missing a beat, they continued to play “Vision”, “Angry Juice”, and “CRAZY-FLAG”, turning the venue into a steam bath.

「Congratulations to "GARRET UDAGAWA" on its grand opening!」

Having played with all his heart and soul, sweat-drenched Satoshi spoke a message of congratulations, after which the band continued to play their new song “INCOMPLETE”, connecting it to the “MONSTER” album song, “Resolution”, making the first live at GARET UDAGAWA” a truly memorable event. Having daringly stepped onto stage without their usual stage makeup, they were regardless able to convey their strong confidence in their music, and their performance on the same stage as the currently popular Loud-scene bands, ASHLEY SCARED THE SKY and HER NAME IN BLOOD, as well as their integration into the Breakdown, Dubstep, and Djent genres is even further proof of their versatility.

girugämesh’s ability to transform and reinvent past songs into a new sound is also a skill worth noting. Their upcoming one-man live on October 13 at SHIBUYA-AX, approximately a year since their last performance there, should definitely be a night of performance worth looking forward to!
