It’s been confirmed that footage from GLAY’s July 27-28’s outdoor live, will be released in DVD and Blu-ray format on November 27.
The event itself was the largest outdoor live in Hakodate to date, and the second day of the live was especially memorable because it was the first time in GLAY’s 19-year career that they held a live in pouring rain. The group played on a stage set to look like a black ship, a fitting image for Hakodate, and over the two days they performed medleys of previously released original albums in addition to hit songs. The second day consisted of a total of 81 songs passionately performed in front of an audience of 50,000 fans, the entirety of which has been recorded for the DVD/Blu-ray release.
Further, the group will also be releasing their newest triple A-side single, “DIAMOND SKIN / Niji no Pocket / CRAZY DANCE” on November 27, the same day as the live footage release. For “DIAMOND SKIN”, GLAY teamed up with Masahide Sakuma, a producer with whom they have made several hit songs since their debut, to make a rock tune about a secret and forbidden love. The lyrics for this song are written from the female perspective, a style that is rare for GLAY; combined with a sorrowful melody the song itself leaves a deep impression.
Finally, the particulars of Glay’s acoustic live in December ＜GLAY CHRISTMAS SHOW 2013 winter ACOUSTIC MILLION DOLLAR NIGHT＞have also been announced. The first-of-its-kind acoustic set should definitely be worth looking forward to in GLAYs upcoming December performances.
