cinema staff Announces Three Consecutive Months of Releases

At their one-man performance on January 18 at SHIBUYA-AX, cinema staff announced that they would have three consecutive months of releases, put an album in April, and begin a nationwide tour in May.

The packed-to-capacity performance at SHIBUYA-AX was cinema staff's first one-man performance since the release of "great escape," which was the ending theme for the television anime "Attack on Titan." Appearing onstage last, guitarist Tsuji bowed deeply to both sides of the audience before waiting. His silent bow toward the gathered fans remains unchanged regardless of whether he is at a venue with a capacity of one hundred people or in the totally packed SHIBUYA-AX.

cinema staff began the performance with the song "KARAKURI in the skywalkers," a song that has been popular since their indie days, before riling the audience up with the song "great escape," starting out strong from the beginning. "Everyone follow us," was the first thing vocalist/guitarist Iida said before cinema staff rocked the venue with one aggressive song after another.

On that day, a large cinema staff logo hung at the back of the stage. During the MC, bassist Mishima talked to the fans for the first time about the feelings that were put into the logo. "When taken one-by-one, we are an imperfect triangle, but when you put the four of us together, we become a square," he said, talking about the passionate feelings of the four-member band that were used to create the logo. Carrying those feelings on their backs, they advanced through their vehement performance.

They performed "Itachi Gokko," with Mishima's skillful bass riffs and "dawnrider," led by drummer Kuno's furious rhythm. As Iida's cool singing voice reverberated through the room, Tsuji moved freely about the stage. They finished their main set with the popular song "AIMAI VISION," which is a song cinema staff has performed live but not yet released on a CD.

The members appeared onstage once more for the encore. Prefaced by the words, "We have some happy announcements," they made announcements one after another. The first was that beginning with the release of "dawnrider," which was released on January 18 and is the theme to "Monster Hunter Big Game Hunting Quest," they will digitally release music for three consecutive months. Their second announcement was that on April 2, they will release their second major album. They also announced that they will hold a nationwide tour starting in May.

Each announcement was met with shouts of excitement from fans before cinema staff performed the new song "borka," for the first time, a song that was created during the work on their new album. Following that, they welcomed a special guest, cellist Junko Takahashi, to the stage and performed special arrangements of the songs "Boukyou" and "Umi ni Tsuite," including cello. During the second encore, they performed the song "GATE" to end out their just over two-hour performance.
