It’s been announced that asobius, who in May of 2013 sent waves throughout Japan with their debut mini-album, “Rainbow”, will be releasing their first album, “pray&grow” on March 19.
asobius is a new group of artists who gained attention from music fans all around, for their combination of Itto Kai’s translucent vocals, and a wild yet beautiful dense sound with unique yet lyrical melodic sense. They just recently successfully completed their first independent Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka live tour, ＜Rave LOVE-to-LOVE＞.Their first album, “pray&grow” lineup will feature songs such as their classic rhythmical live piece, “starlight”, the song that put asobius on the musical map, “I’m in the love”, asobius’s most up-tempo song, “rise”, the magnificent melody that is reminiscent of a climactic scene in a movie, “discovery”, a love song with an expressive band sound and beautiful yet powerful lyrics, “waltz”, which features the guest vocals of the emotional rock band ITSUE’s Mizuki, and others for a total of ten songs.
What’s more, the contents of the album will be abundant, featuring the simultaneous recording of both English and Japanese versions of the songs on one album. The first album, which will have ten songs (English) plus ten songs (Japanese), will also include a special album remix of “I’m in the love”, “starlight”, and “new morning”, and will even include liner notes as according to Itto Kai to further the understanding of the album’s world; the completed album features the rare inclusion of both English and Japanese lyrics and is a testament to asobius’s willingness to evolve despite being new on the scene. What’s more, from January 31 til February 2, listeners will be able to listen to a sample of the songs on the band’s official site.
